Permanent Site Announcement

Hi everyone,

I wanted to go ahead and make a post about where I will be living for the next 2 years. I got my placement a few weeks ago. I had the chance to visit the location and now I am about to be sworn in as an official Peace Corps Volunteer and go live there for 2 years.

My site is....

Drum roll please....

Cikancung, Bandung, West Java, Indonesia!

I'm sure that just saying the name of the town probably doesn't really mean anything to anyone reading this. Below is a map of the area that progressively gets bigger to give you an idea of where it is

Anyways, Cikancung is a very beautiful small town in the bottom part of the Bandung region in West Java. This means it is a lot less hot than here.... which I am so excited about because I am ready to not sweat in my sleep every night. There are mountains surrounding the site and the school I will be working at is actually on the top of one of the mountains. That means no biking to school for me, luckily there is an angkot (small bus) that goes directly to and from the school.

Once I'm settled into the site, I'm hoping to post more about it and get into a more consistant posting schedule.
