We got to Leminggir on Thursday afternoon and had sessions on Friday. It was definitely awkward at first with my host family, trying to integrate into a family you do not know yet. My host family has 4 young children; 10 years old, 5 & 5 years old, and a 1 year old. Additionally, my host mom runs a daycare out of the house so there is always a bunch of little children running around.
During the weekend, we had some free time for the first time since coming to Indonesia. The near constant activity and required sessions from when we touched down in Surabaya on the 28th of September to the 6th of October is a different story though, and one I do not want to go into on a blog post.
The weekend was fun because everything was new and there was a lot to try. In the evenings of both the 6th and 7th of October I attended wedding celebrations with my host family. On Friday (6th) we went to a prayer event to bless the bride and union. This was multiple hours of sitting on the ground and reading Arabic prayers, Then they gave a bunch of food and take-home gifts. On the following night, the wedding happened and we attended a reception after with food, friends, and a lot of pictures.
Sampai jumpa.

During the weekend days, I hung out with some of the other PC volunteers.
