Cats are one of the most common animals around villages in Indonesia, along with chickens and birds.
The chickens and cats often wonder around outside, whereas the birds are the most common pet for people to have here. However, even though there are some people who have birds and cats as pets here, pets are really not very common here.
Recently, I have been feeding some of the cats around my house and school. I, along with one other teacher, are the only ones who regularly feed the cats. Most of the time, the cats will find food outdoors.
I have named one of the cats at my school- which I told myself not to do because I didn't want to get to attached, but I guess it's too late for that.
I named him Tiger (Harimau in Indonesian). I named him that because he has markings similar to a tiger. He is the cat that hangs around the school the most.
He often likes to hang out on my desk, stopping me from getting any work done!
He also likes to sleep in the classrooms on a desk when class is happening.
In the picture below, he got upset because I stopped petting him for a second to take a picture.
